Unmaintained mkdocs dependency in ALASCA projects

Hi everyone, the FOCIS team would like to raise some awareness that several ALASCA projects make use of mkdocs v1, which has not seen a release for 2 years. Its development has been halted by the original author, resulting in some rather ugly fallout & forks in the community[0]. v2[1] will not be compatible and follows a rather unconventional, closed governance approach[2]. Not having any license, it's currently not free software. Affected ALASCA projects we've identified so far: - docs.alasca.cloud (ALASCA "governance" repo) - Arko - IXpect - Seconlay - Tarook (images/nginx-ingress) As a first, quick measure we recommend pinning your mkdocs dependency (to anything <2), to prevent an unwanted upgrade & breakage. If the ALASCA community comes up with a more concrete transition plan, we're happy to help implement it, especially for the ALASCA docs repo. ALASCA - requesting input for the Community Digest for Q3

Hi there projects representatives and TSC members, I hope everyone is doing well! It is once again time for the Community Digest, as we are nearing the end of Q3. I'd like to kindly ask a project representative for *each project* as well as a member of the TSC to provide me with the latest news and results of your work, so that I can feature it in the upcoming Community Digest. As always, short bullet points are totally fine, I'll happily integrate those contents into the existing layout. You can also send it as a written text, whatever takes the least amount of effort and time for you to do :-) Please send me your input until *Sunday, September 20th, *as I plan on writing the Digest next week.
